Summer is coming and with it the “critters” that are teasing our beloved four-legged friends. If the winter is mild they will come earlier.

Fleas
Fleas are very stubborn creatures to fight once you pet it plagued it.
There are several pet products on the market in order to help us, this are the most famous of them. Flea Collar is a plastic collar, which prevents the fleas to stay on our pet. That does not mean they can not bite our pets, but they are not there to stay, which is also an advantage. With dogs, you must be careful if you have more than one, as they play and they bite each other’s neck, because it is known that collar can be toxic. This collar must be renewed every month, to be effective. Drawback is that it stinks and reasonable that some animals can not really be well served. There are also animals that can not stand to have something on their neck. There are also pills on the market at flea program. This must be administered under the weight of your animal. Also every month to repeat. You can try aerosol and powder.

Sign
Ticks are bloodsuckers. They can also come on man and sucks human blood too.
They are found mainly in bushes and wooded areas. They come on their “host” and stuck their feet in the skin. Then they begin to suck blood and become much larger. When they met they let themselves fall back, until they get hungry and the next victim comes along.
If your pet has a tick, do not try it out pulling with tweezers or something (since they can sit back and legs light), even numb with ether as some people say is not good. Best is a tick (you can buy in any pet store and it is not as expensive), so turn off the tick and you can destroy him.
Remember that a tick bite can transmit diseases like Lyme disease and it can be dangerous for the people also.

Deciding on a dog is an exciting opportunity to pick a beloved member of the family. With so many different breeds to choose from, it can be difficult to know what type of dog is the perfect match for you and your family. The beagle is a very popular dog for families for a variety of reasons.

The beagle is small in size, which makes it a very attractive breed, especially for those with small homes. It’s much easier to handle a beagle while taking her for a walk, and you don’t have to worry about a large breed taking up too much space in the house or knocking things over in close quarters. If you have small children, a beagle is great because the dog is more their size. There can be a level of safety concerns when children are playing with dogs much larger than they are, though of course, all time children spend playing with the family pet should be monitored for their safety.

Beagles are fun, happy dogs. They have a great deal of energy, and can really bring a spark to their owner’s life. The beagle is known for the smile it frequently displays, and beagles have a great disposition. A family who is looking for a dog with a lot of character will definitely find it in the beagle. With its small, manageable size and its great personality, the beagle is a top choice for many families, and should be strongly considered for anyone getting a dog.

Dogs have been an integral part of our society for as long as there has been recorded history. No one knows for certain when they were domesticated, but many of us cannot imagine a life without a loving canine companion to see us through the day.

What Makes Dogs So Special?
Ask a dozen dog owners why their dog is their best friend and you will get a dozen different answers. Dogs are reliable, forgiving, caring and always happy to see us, to name a few. Nothing warms the heart like a lick on the hand accompanied by that fiercely wagging tail when we come home from a long, discouraging day at work.

No one but a dog will provide a shoulder to cry on even when we have just yelled at him. While he may eat your shoe, he will always hold your heart, which is why we so gladly buy the next pair of shoes and forget the offense.

Dogs In Society
Not only do dogs help fulfill our emotional needs in a world where people are drifting farther apart, they also fill practical roles that make our lives easier and activities possible. Dogs are without an equal when it comes to helping persons with disabilities. From seeing-eye dogs to wheelchair companions, dogs make normal activities attainable for many people. They also provide security, helping to keep everything from national treasures to wrecked cars safe from vandalism.

From their forgiving, loving demeanors to their fierce protection of those they love, dogs have integrated themselves so deeply into our lives that it would be difficult to carry on without dogs in the world. They truly are man’s best friend.

Choosing the right animal for a pet is a decision that takes lengthy deliberation. If you believe the time is right to bring a new animal into your home, follow these rules to make sure this exciting decision does not end up being a decision you will regret.

As with any buying endeavor, say no to impulse buying. Buying a pet simply because it’s “too adorable to leave behind” is not a good reason to buy it. Sleep on the decision then get an outside opinion from a trusted friend or relative. Getting an outside opinion will allow you to hear some unbiased insight as to what would be an appropriate pet for your lifestyle.

Choose the right pet for your lifestyle and home. Are you a night owl? Animals like cats and sugar gliders are more active at night. Do you work long hours? Animals that get lonely after a couple hours should be ruled out as a potential pet. Also, take into consideration the size of your home. Your pet should be proportionately related to the size of your home.

Last but most certainly not least in importance, make certain that you can afford whatever pet you choose. Larger pets or exotics will cost more in initial cost and the later upkeep in food and healthcare. Make certain you have enough funds available to support your pet.

Finding a pet may take some researching but once you find the right one, it’s well worth its weight in gold.
